An electromagnetic railgun (EMRG) considered the world's most powerful with force up to 10 Megajoules was successfully tested by the U.S. Navy.
LinkThe Navy's Office of Naval Research (ONR) successfully conducted a record-setting firing of an electromagnetic rail gun at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren.
ONR's Electromagnetic Rail Gun (EMRG) program is part of the Department of the Navy's Science and Technology investments, focused on developing new technologies to support Navy and Marine Corps war fighting needs.
