A premature 610-gram baby comes back to life after it was pronounced dead and was put into a freezer for five hours. Premature infants of this weight and age have only 10 percent survival.

Premature Baby Comes Back to Life after Five Hours in FreezerThe father, Ali Majdub, told Channel 2 that his wife realized the child was alive after asking to see her dead daughter one last time.

"When we unwrapped the baby to see her, she realized it was moving. I began screaming and ran with it toward the doctors," he said.

She was then rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit,
where doctors are fighting for her life.

"I was in shock," the mother told Channel 2 last night. "I thought I wasn't hearing it right when they said she was still alive."

Dr. Moshe Daniel, the hospital's deputy director, said that in his 35 years as a physician, he had "never heard of such a case. It was like a medical miracle."

Ame and Lia are not twins but the two are born on the same day (just minutes apart) to the same mother, 29-year-old Miss Spence. The five-month-old babies look like twins, but in fact they're not. They were conceived three weeks apart - a million-to-one medical rarity.

An explanation for this unusual case:The girls were conceived through a process known as superfetation, the term used to describe the formation of a foetus whilst another foetus is already present in the uterus.

This occurs when eggs from two separate menstrual cycles are released, as opposed to normal non-identical twins where more than one egg is released in a single cycle. Although common in animals it is rare in humans, but it can result in a twin or multiple pregnancy. It is diagnosed when the foetuses show a marked different in development. The girls are technically not twins. Identical twins occur when one egg splits into two and non-identical, or fraternal, twins occur when two eggs are released and fertilised at the same time.

Vanya Maryin was born with five-chamber heart, instead of four. The "Bee-boy", as doctors call him, have right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, left ventricle and an extra left atrium. Wondering why he was called the "Bee-boy"? Because only bees have five-chamber heart. What's more extraordinary is that he comes from the beekeeper’s family.

Vanya was born not with 2 atriums like all the people on the Earth, but with an additional - third one. He could die anytime from a sudden push, fright or even happiness. But the body, adjusting to an unusual 5-chamber ‘bee-heart’, suggested the boy a saving, optimal ‘pose for life’.

Doctor Elena Nufer explains: ‘The boy’s heart had 5 chambers instead of 4. Usually the heart consists of the right atrium and the right ventricle, the left atrium and the left ventricle. Vanya had 2 left atriums with a thin, like polyethylene, but firm and impenetrable interseptum. This interseptum was noticed only during the cardiogram. At first nobody believed.

Sanju Bhagat carried his parasitic twin in his stomach for nearly four decades. It so that long because his swollen stomach was mistakenly caused by a tumor. It was during an operation to remove the "tumor" in June 1999 that doctors discovered it was actually his twin brothers body that has been growing inside him. Here's the video of the operation.

"Basically, the tumor was so big that it was pressing on his diaphragm and that's why he was very breathless," said Dr. Ajay Mehta of Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. "Because of the sheer size of the tumor, it makes it difficult [to operate]. We anticipated a lot of problems."

Mehta said that he can usually spot a tumor just after he begins an operation. But while operating on Bhagat, Mehta saw something he had never encountered. As he cut deeper into Bhagat's stomach, gallons of fluid spilled out -- and then something extraordinary happened.

"To my surprise and horror, I could shake hands with somebody inside," he said. "It was a bit shocking for me."

Woman with Two Wombs Gave Birth to Triplets

A UK woman with two wombs is believed to be the first in the world with the condition to give birth to triplets.

Hannah Kersey, 23, from Northam in Devon, had identical twins Ruby and Tilly, who were born from one womb, Grace, who was born from the other.

The girls had to stay in hospital for nine weeks after being born seven weeks early by Caesarean, but have now returned home to their parents.

The odds of having triplets from two wombs are about 25 million to one.

The chances of a woman with two wombs having twins or two separate births is estimated to be five million to one.

Against the odds

Only 70 women in the world are known to have been pregnant in two wombs, reports suggest.

The condition, which is actually called uterus didelphys, affects one in 1,000 women in the UK.

In Miss Kersey's case, the babies were conceived from two eggs - one in each womb - which were fertilised at the same time by two different sperm.

One egg then divided, producing identical twins, while the other developed into a single baby.

Hannah and her partner Mick Faulkner said they were "over the moon" at how healthy and happy the girls are.

Hannah said: "They are three lovely and incredible children, all with very different personalities.

"Gracie seems to be the ringleader - maybe because she grew up in her own womb.

"Ruby is very laid back and quiet, happy to sit and watch what is happening around her.

"Tilly, who was the baby that struggled to survive inside me, is a real fighter, wanting to keep up with her sisters and not be left out."

Dr Simon Grant, a consultant at Southmead Hospital who delivered the babies, said: "There are very few world firsts nowadays, but it may be one."

Mr Ellis Downes, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Chase Farm Hospital in London, said: "It is quite amazing. Women with two wombs have conceived a baby in each womb before but never twins in one and a singleton in the other."

Leading expert Mr Peter Bowen-Simpkins added: "For a woman to spontaneously conceive and give birth in this way is a real rarity. They have been extremely fortunate."

Mr Richard Warren of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists said most cases occur naturally, but the condition can run in families.

Hannah's mother and sister also have two wombs.

A German woman aged 64 has given birth to a healthy baby girl, a national record and her first child after years of unfruitful attempts and false pregnancies, a report says.

"Mother and child are doing well," Dr Elias Karam at the Aschaffenburg clinic in southern Bavaria said, quoted by the website of Der Spiegel weekly.

The baby was born on Thursday by caesarian section and weighed two kilograms, the report said.

While the woman became the oldest German to given birth, it was far from a world record.

At the end of 2006, a Spanish woman of 67 gave birth to twins, pipping the record made the year before by another twin-bearer, this time a 66-year-old Romanian.

The German birth came thanks to the donation of ovules by a 25-year-old donor but used the sperm of her husband, who is also aged 64, Spiegel Online reports.

The ovule operation happened abroad because it is banned in Germany, the report said.

"This woman came to me because she needed my help. As a doctor, I gave it without question," Dr Karam said. Source

Boyzilla: 14lb 7oz at Birth

Just 1oz short of the Jack Herman, this another Boyzilla weighed at 14 pounds at birth

Boyzilla: 14lb 7oz at Birth"I couldn't understand why he wasn't coming easily," said Miss Ellerton, who gave birth naturally with only gas and air to help her.

"Once his head appeared I could see the surprise on everyone's faces. It was very painful but it was all worth it for our big bundle of joy."

Shaune is still less than a week old and is already the size of a six-month-old. He is two-feet long and, in the age-old unit of baby weight, the equivalent of seven bags of sugar.

Miss Ellerton, 24, whose other children Alex John, four, and Amy Louise, two, weighed around 8lbs each, said nothing had prepared her for the size of the task.

At 14lb 8oz at birth, Jack Herman is really a junior giant. She was delivered his mom, Sara Herman, via caesarean operation.

As a first-time mother, Sara Herman thought it was only to be expected that she had an enormous bump after five months.

What she and doctors failed to realise was that the petite mother-to-be, who is only just over 5ft, was expecting a giant.

When Jack eventually arrived via caesarean section at 37 weeks he weighed an astonishing 14lb 8oz.
