Tuna is the news of the moment. This giant bluefin tuna sold for a record 32.49 million yen or $396,000, in Tokyo. As many of us know, Tokyo is world's largest wholesale fish market.

This record breaker weighed 754-pound tuna and beat the previous record set in 2001 by a 445-pound fish that was sold for 20.2 million yen.

The giant tuna was caught off the coast of northern Japan. The record-setting price translates to 95,000 yen per kilogram or $526 per pound.

"It was an exceptionally large fish," said the official, Yutaka Hasegawa. "But we were all surprised by the price."

Man's best friends will surely rejoice with this news. The world’s very first ice cream truck for dogs rolled out in London. The ice-cream van will serve canine-friendly flavors such as "Dog Eat Hog World" — a chicken and gammon sorbet. This vehicle was created to celebrate the Boomerang Pets Party.

And also, though their ice cream flavor tastes different than what we're used to, they are safe for human consumption.

World’s First Ice Cream Truck For Dogs"The weather has been so hot, we thought dogs deserved a cooling treat as much as anyone else," said Sally Bezant of event organizer Boomerang Pets Party. She said a team of pet nutritionists had been through a complicated scientific process to determine the tastiest and safest flavors for the dogs' dessert. And although the unusual flavors were tested on a panel of dogs, they can be eaten by humans.

Wanna eat all you can and stay fit? Be a world class Olympian like Michael Phelps. He eats a whooping 12,000 calories a day or 4,000 calories every meal. That's six times than the average man of his age and size suggested calorie intake of 2,000 calories. Apparently, his calorie intake is being washed away by his training of five hour a day, six time a week regimen.

Phelps lends a new spin to the phrase "Breakfast of Champions" by starting off his day by eating three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise.

He follows that up with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes.

At lunch, Phelps gobbles up a pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread - capping off the meal by chugging about 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

For dinner, Phelps really loads up on the carbs - what he needs to give him plenty of energy for his five-hours-a-day, six-days-a-week regimen - with a pound of pasta and an entire pizza.

He washes all that down with another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

If you wanna live healthier and longer then you should know the worst artery cloggers in America. Knowing this could save your life.

This is the meal to eat if you like pig products: two eggs scrambled with chopped bacon, diced ham, and crumbled sausage, then topped with cheddar cheese. All rounded out with two strips of bacon, two sausage links, hash browns, and two fluffy buttermilk pancakes. The amount of sodium in this pile of pig garbage is enough to last you two days … if you don’t die of a heart attack first.

Try this. The tearless onion - the onion that doesn't make you cry when you chop it. Using gene-silencing technology to dry up the enzyme that causes crying, scientists believed they have discovered the "tearless onion"

The team, led by Dr Colin Eady, from The New Zealand Institute for Crop and Food Research, say the groundbreaking onions are still in the developmental stage.

Dr Eady said: "What we've done is develop the tearless onion.

"We anticipate that the health and flavour profiles will actually be enhanced by what we've done.

"What we're hoping is that we'll essentially have a lot of the nice, sweet aromas associated with onions without that associated bitter, pungent factor."

This bread bowl is fit for those who don't have time to wash up. It's one of the strangest culinary inventions in years.

A Birmingham food firm has started making bowls and plates out of dough. The idea is that diners enjoy a soup, chilli or curry, then eat the bowl too.

David Williams, the managing director of Butt Foods, which has developed the idea, admits: "Our banks, our investors all thought we were crackers. But we've now proved them wrong."

The company already supplies a chain of pubs with prawn cocktail-filled bread bowls and says that later this year a leading supermarket will stock its microwavable naan bowl filled with chicken tikka masala.
