Chinese Bao Xishun, Worlds Tallest Man AgainBao Xishun of China is the world's tallest man for the second time.

The Guinness World Records has returned the title to him after Leonid Stadnyk of Ukraine refused to be measured under the records book's new guideline. Bao, who stands at 7 feet, 8.95 inches, held the title for a year before losing it in 2006 to Stadnyk, who is 8 feet 5.5 inches tall.

Under the new guideline, candidates need to be measured six times in one day in both standing and lying position. Bao agreed but Stadnyk refused, and so Guinness was forced to give the record back to Bao based on a statement from his doctor.

"We realized there was such interest and excitement in these categories to do with height that it was too important a category for us to leave it to a doctor alone," Glenday said. "So we decided to tighten things up completely to make sure there was no doubt."

Are you dreaming of swimming like a fish? Well, the artificial gills is maybe the answer.

A brainchild of Alon Bodner, this battery-powered device named "LikeAFish" will extract oxygen from the seawater allowing for a tankless underwater diving. Although this new invention is in the prototype stage, Bodner says they are working hard to develop a prototype small enough for a diver to carry it on his diving vest. They are estimating that in two years a fully functional prototype will be available.

LikeAFish Artificial GillsThe system can work as a replacement of common 'open diving systems'. However, because of large air and water requirements, the system is best suited for 'closed systems', also known as 'rebreathers'.

Submarines and underwater habitats are private cases of rebreather uses, and where use of the new system would have enormous benefits. Many operations that are now considered to be 'impossible' become within reach when the underwater time of sub sea vehicles becomes virtually unlimited.

Believing it was valuable, they called their city's maritime museum and took the oysters with the pearls inside it. They later told the couple that they counted only 25 pearls.

The oyster was preserved and the couple display it in their restaurant.

A few days later, the oyster was preserved and returned by the museum, along with the pearls. Salha, who insists the oyster still contains 26 pearls, plans to keep it on display at his restaurant.

The Burning Monk

The Burning Monk was a Vietnamese Mahayana Buddhist monk named ThĆch Quįŗ£ng Đức, who burned himself to death on at a busy Saigon road intersection on June 11, 1963 , as a protest of the persecution of Buddhists by South Vietnam's NgĆ“ ĐƬnh Diệm administration. Photos of his self-immolation were circulated widely across the world and brought attention to the policies of the Diệm regime.

The Burning Monk - self-immolationThĆch Quįŗ£ng Đức's act increased international pressure on Diệm and led him to announce reforms with the intention of mollifying the Buddhists. However, the promised reforms were implemented either slowly or not at all, leading to a deterioration in the dispute. With protests continuing, the Special Forces loyal to Diệm's brother, NgĆ“ ƐƬnh Nhu, launched nationwide raids on Buddhist pagodas, seizing the holy heart and causing deaths and widespread damage. Several Buddhist monks followed ThĆch Quįŗ£ng Đức's example and burned themselves to death. Eventually, an Army coup toppled and killed Diệm in November. The self-immolation is widely seen as the turning point of the Vietnamese Buddhist crisis which led to the change in regime.

Apparently, his calorie intake is being washed away by his training of five hour a day, six time a week regimen.

Phelps lends a new spin to the phrase "Breakfast of Champions" by starting off his day by eating three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise.

He follows that up with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes.

At lunch, Phelps gobbles up a pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread - capping off the meal by chugging about 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

For dinner, Phelps really loads up on the carbs - what he needs to give him plenty of energy for his five-hours-a-day, six-days-a-week regimen - with a pound of pasta and an entire pizza.

He washes all that down with another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

The Slightest Touch device promise one thing - Orgasms "at the touch of a button". According to the makers, this device can give women longer, better and more intense orgasms. And the more interesting is, it can give orgasm without touching a woman's genital just by stimulating the body's sexual nerve pathway.

Slightest Touch Device
Women start by drinking an electrolyte sports drink 20 minutes before using the device.

They then apply two white electrode pads inside their ankles.

These pads are connected to the Slightest Touch device, which is about the size of a personal stereo.

"The Slightest Touch does not provide an orgasm," said Cherisse Davidson, the company's director of customer support.

"It gently stimulates the sexual nerve pathways taking the woman to a pre-orgasmic plateau where she dangles on the edge of orgasm for as long as she wants.

"From there, gentle stimulation can then effect the orgasm."

BBC News Online has been unable to get independent scientific verification that the product works.

But Ms Davidson, who first tested the device three years ago, insists it is effective.

"It can be of great benefit to many women," she told BBC News Online.

"I've been using mine for three years and I just love it."

Invented by Swedish inventor Jan von Heland, Waboba ball, the ball that bounces on water, is now becoming popular around the world after videos of it were posted in YouTube.

This ball is made of a combination of plastics with lycra coating. It has the same density as water and floats when at rest. Wabobal ball which is said to have a consistency of breast implant, took the inventor several years to perfect and now being sold around the world after debuting in the beaches of Australia.

"I first got the idea when I was throwing a frisbee upside down on the water trying to get it to bounce,” he said.

"I thought it would be good to get something that used the water to bounce off and began to experiment.”

He added: "It has been very successful and we sell the balls all over the world - Australia is our biggest market.

"It seems a bit odd that a Swede should invent this because it is best for a hot climate where people are in the sea and in swimming pools all the time."

The giant Palm Salamander's tongue is the world's most explosive muscle. This Central American reptile's tongue muscles has explosive tongue thrust that releases over 18,000 watts of power per kilogram of muscle. Enough to catch even the most elusive insect.

Stephen Deban of the University of South Florida in Tampa said the secret to the tiny salamander's strength lies in its "ballistic" tongue-firing mechanism.

His team used high-speed video and implanted electrodes to study the prey-catching behavior of several related salamander species.

Much like an arrow shot from a bow, Deban said, the giant palm salamander's bony tongue is launched with an initial burst of energy and flies forward under its own momentum.

The "bow" is provided by elastic fibers in the salamander's mouth that stretch to store muscular energy and then release it all at once.
