Ame and Lia are not twins but the two are born on the same day (just minutes apart) to the same mother, 29-year-old Miss Spence. The five-month-old babies look like twins, but in fact they're not. They were conceived three weeks apart - a million-to-one medical rarity.

An explanation for this unusual case:The girls were conceived through a process known as superfetation, the term used to describe the formation of a foetus whilst another foetus is already present in the uterus.

This occurs when eggs from two separate menstrual cycles are released, as opposed to normal non-identical twins where more than one egg is released in a single cycle. Although common in animals it is rare in humans, but it can result in a twin or multiple pregnancy. It is diagnosed when the foetuses show a marked different in development. The girls are technically not twins. Identical twins occur when one egg splits into two and non-identical, or fraternal, twins occur when two eggs are released and fertilised at the same time.

If you don't want your energy be wasted in the gym, why not enroll in one of Hong Kong's human-powered gyms. In gyms such as these, the energy burned off your exercisers is diverted and converted to power lighting fixtures, and the excess energy is stored in a battery for later use - when gym users are resting. What a nice motivation to burn fats.

World Now Has 10 Million Millionaires

According to recent report, there are already 10 million millionaires in the world. I'm sure you wanna be one of them. But to be included in the list, you should have at least $1 million in assets.

"The growth of their wealth is outpacing the growth of their population, and that's a trend that's going to continue in coming years," said Ileana Van Der Linde, a principal with Capgemini.

The ranks of the wealthy are growing fastest in the developing economies of India, China and Brazil. The number of millionaires in India grew by about 23 percent.

The United States still reigns supreme when it comes to fat wallets, though: One in every three millionaires in the world lives in America. Combined, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America account for just one in 10.

A police helicopter, with a three-man crew, had a close encounter with a UFO. They are forced to swerve sharply to avoid being hit by it. It would have been a direct hit, the crew said. This extraordinary incident which took place near an RAF base outside Cardiff, South Wales, was said to be the first sightings of its kind.

“They are convinced it was a UFO. It sounds far-fetched, but they know what they saw.

“These guys are hardened professionals and know people will take the mickey, but they are certain they saw a UFO.”

The source added to The Sun: “After the near-collision they decided to follow it to find out what the hell it was.

"They belted across the Bristol Channel in pursuit, but it was too quick. They got to the North Devon coast and had to turn back because they were running low on fuel.”

The police Eurocopter, an EC135T21, was hovering in the sky above RAF St Athan late at night, waiting to land, a police spokeswoman confirmed.

While theoretically and technically television may be feasible, commercially and financially I consider it an impossibility, a development of which we need waste little time dreaming. - Lee DeForest, American radio pioneer, 1926.

A recent study showed that earth was habitable 4.3 billion years ago - much more earlier than previously thought. The team of scientists led by geologists Takayuki Ushikubo, Valley and Noriko Kita analyzed ancient minerals called zircons. This mineral showed that liquid water existed as early as 4.3 billion years ago. Zircons, the tiny mineral grains, was used to determine the age of ancient rocks since this minerals are resistant to chemical change.

Ushikubo, the first author on the new study, says that atmospheric weathering could provide an answer to a long-standing question in geology: why no rock samples have ever been found dating back to the first 500 million years after the Earth formed.

"Currently, no rocks remain from before about 4 billion years ago," he says. "Some people consider this as evidence for very high temperature conditions on the ancient Earth."

Previous explanations for the missing rocks have included destruction by bombardment of meteorites and the possibility that the early Earth was a red-hot sea of magma in which rocks could not form.

Unicorn, the 1-year-old Roe Deer was born with a single horn at the center of his head. He is believed to have been born with a genetic flaw because his twin has two normal horns. He was born in captivity in the research center's park in the Tuscan town of Prato, near Florence, Italy.

"This shows that even in past times, there could have been animals with this anomaly," he said by telephone. "It's not like they dreamed it up."

Single-horned deer are rare but not unheard of — but even more unusual is the central positioning of the horn, experts said.

"Generally, the horn is on one side (of the head) rather than being at the center. This looks like a complex case," said Fulvio Fraticelli, scientific director of Rome's zoo. He said the position of the horn could also be the result of a trauma early in the animal's life.

To show patriotism and support, a 60 year-old Chinese acupuncturist has pierced his head, face, chest, and arms with 2008 decorative needles for the upcoming China Olympics.

The event broke his previous Guinness Record of 1790 needles set in 2004. Wei also hopes to share more about the history of acupuncture to the world.

Initially inspired after reading about a Canadian who had set a record for inserting 420 needles in his arm, Wei felt that it was “not much compared to our centuries-old acupuncture,” and began experimenting with piercing his own body with needles.

If you think Friday the 13ths is the unluckiest days, think again. Study shows that Friday the 13ths is luckier than other Fridays.

"I find it hard to believe that it is because people are preventatively more careful or just stay home, but statistically speaking, driving is a little bit safer on Friday 13th," CVS statistician Alex Hoen told the Verzekerd insurance magazine.

In the last two years, Dutch insurers received reports of an average 7,800 traffic accidents each Friday, the CVS study said. But the average figure when the 13th fell on a Friday was just 7,500.

There were also fewer incidents of fire and theft, although the average value of losses on Fridays 13th was slightly higher.

An uncontacted tribe was recently found in the Amazon jungle in Brazil. Tribe members would fire arrows at airplane whenever they see them. They wear black and red dyes, made from crushed seeds, which experts believed to signal aggression.

"We are very confident the photos are genuine," said Miriam Ross, a spokesperson for Survival International, which estimates that half of the hundred or so uncontacted tribes in the world live in the rain forests of Brazil and Peru.

Due to their vulnerable immune systems, these groups are highly susceptible to diseases borne by outsiders such as missionaries, loggers, or oil workers.

At top of his weight of more than 1,200 lbs, 42-year-old Manuel Uribe from Monterrey, was considered the world's heaviest living man in medical history. He is currently on The Zone diet under supervision of doctors and nutritionist, and is now slowly losing weight. He do exercise on his bed by doing dancing-like motion to speed up his metabolism.

Uribe is beyond the kind of overweight that comes from fast food and lack of exercise. Doctors call it morbid obesity.

According to the National Institutes of Health, obesity means weighing 20 percent or more than your ideal body weight, and it's a health risk.

Morbid obesity is altogether different. Sometimes called "clinically severe obesity," it means you're 100 pounds or more over ideal body weight, with a body mass index of 40 or higher.

Uribe doesn't gain weight like the rest of us. Brain chemistry, genetic mutation, addiction, psychological pain -- or an unhappy combination of all of them -- makes morbid obesity one of the biggest mysteries of medicine.

Not only that the Dead Sea is the saltiest water in the world (six times as salty as the ocean), it is also the place with the world's lowest elevation at 1,300 feet below sea level. It is located in the Middle East, between Jordan and Israel.

There's no seaweed or plants of any kind in or around the water. There are no fish or any kind of swimming, squirming creatures living in or near the water. As a matter of fact, what you'll see on the shores of the Sea is white, crystals of salt covering EVERYTHING. And this is no ordinary table salt, either. The salts found in the Dead Sea are mineral salts, just like you find in the oceans of the world, only in extreme concentrations.
